Warwick School probably dates from 914. Today, it is situated on the outskirts of Warwick Town with fine views over the River Avon and Warwick Castle. The large number of day pupils, full and weekly boarding facilities provide maximum flexibility for parental choice.
An extensive programme of building development has taken place. This has included new buildings for the English, Economics and Mathematics Departments, a purpose built Design Centre, a new medical centre, refurbishment of the Main School Building and the completion of new laboratories for Physics and Chemistry. In addition, the past three years have seen the building of an indoor swimming pool, the construction of a new Sports Hall and Sixth Form Centre, additional classrooms and facilities for Classics, Modern Languages and computing. A new building for History and Geography, a new music department and a drama studio are all planned for completion by September 1996..
Academic standards are high. Boys are encouraged to form good habits of work and the School places emphasis on encouraging the achievement of academic excellence. The curriculum not only encompasses the subjects recommended in the national Curriculum but also offers a wide range of opportunities and alternatives. Christian principles and pastoral support for individual boys are perceived as important. There are numerous extra curricular activities, and many sporting facilities within the 50 acres of playing fields attached to the School.
All this encourages a healthy environment in which boys have opportunities to use their talents to a maximum and develop as successful and caring individuals.
